Native to Iceland, the Icelandic language is most closely related to Faroese and Western Norwegian. The Icelandic alphabet consists of 32 letters with some of the oldest preserved texts in Icelandic dating back to 1100 AD.

According to the 8th schedule of the Indian constitution, there are currently 22 languages that are officially recognized. Some of these include Bengali, Hindi and Bodo.

The Sinitic languages, often known as " Chinese languages ", constitute the major branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family. Mandarin is a group of Sinitic languages spoken across most of northern and southwestern China. Since Mandarin originated in North China and most Mandarin languages and dialects are found in the north, the group is sometimes referred to as Northern Chinese.
